He eats babies would be "Er isst Babys." This phrase reads "He eats people." Not strange at all.

@Jake Yes, I know.  I was pointing out the incorrect translation of "he eats babies" oh and if he eats people I'd say that is pretty strange unless he is a ferocious animal.
