(This is Entry #1 in the Pseudoish Wisdom Series)
You’ve just had an awesome experience and you can’t wait to tell your friends about it. You open your mouth and spill it all on them.
At first they listen because they like you, maybe even love you. But then, because they can’t imagine your experience, their eyes begin to glaze over like a delicious doughnut. It’s not that they don’t care, it’s just that they are ignorant.
Give them a break. How can they care about what they haven’t breathed in? Just because they are content with the ho-hum doesn’t give you a right to get upset at them. Get over yourself. In fact, quit having those awesome experiences that we can’t afford!
The lesson for today? *Stop trying to be better than the rest of us. Next time you try to escape the cage, I’m going to have to pull you back down.
